Art Requirements

Art Requirements

Please carefully review and follow the instructions below before placing your order to ensure the best results.

Trademarked and Copyrighted Images:
Ink and Needle cannot print trademarked or copyrighted images, screenshots, or watermarked content without written permission from the owner. If you have the proper authorization, please email the written proof to Sales@inkandneedle.co.nz for approval.

File Format:
Submit your design in a transparent file format at 300 DPI, sized to match or exceed the dimensions of the transfer. For optimal quality, we recommend the following file formats in order of preference: CMYK PDF, NATIVE PDF, CMYK EPS, RGB PDF, and RGB EPS. Other file types may result in lower-quality prints. Accepted file formats include PDF, PNG, JPG, etc. Please note that we are not responsible for color discrepancies, backgrounds, or other design-related issues.

Resolution and Image Quality:
To ensure the highest print quality, create your artwork at 300 DPI. Low-resolution images may appear blurry or pixelated when printed.

Mirroring Artwork:
You do not need to mirror your artwork before submission. Our system automatically handles this process.

Background Removal:
If you do not want the background of your design to be printed, ensure it is removed before uploading. Otherwise, the background will be included in the final print.

White Ink Printing:
Our DTF printer supports white ink. If your design includes a white square or box around the image, it will be printed as part of the transfer.

Prohibited Content:
Ink and Needle reserves the right to cancel and refund any orders containing vulgar, offensive, gang-related, or inappropriate content. All designs must be suitable for a general audience.

By following these guidelines, you can help us deliver the best possible results for your custom transfers. Thank you for choosing Ink and Needle!

Before You Order

Important Embroidery Information

Every embroidery job is quoted individually because pricing depends on the logo, garment, placement and quantity.

What is the minimum order?
Our minimum embroidery order is 5 pieces. Sizes may be mixed within the order, subject to garment availability and confirmation.
Do you supply the garments?
Yes. We can source suitable polos, T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, workwear, caps and other garments from trusted apparel suppliers.
What is logo digitising?
Your logo must be converted into an embroidery-ready stitch file. A one-time digitising fee may apply to new designs.
What artwork should I provide?
Vector artwork such as AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF is preferred. A clear, high-resolution PNG may also be suitable.
How long does embroidery take?
Please allow approximately 5–7 working days after artwork approval and payment. Larger orders, complex logos or garment availability may affect the timeframe.
Can I provide my own garments?
Please contact us before supplying your own garments. We need to confirm that the fabric, construction and embroidery position are suitable.
